“It feels like it was just a couple weeks ago,” Helen McLeod said. “She was 35. She started to change her life around and she was just taken away from us.” McLeod, a member of Muskowekwan First Nation in Saskatchewan, was one of hundreds whose lives were honoured on Saturday.
