As expected, Budget 2025 focused on Prime Minister Carney’s business case for Canada, specifically, his plan to develop Canada into an energy superpower with a strong focus on trade and resource extraction, particularly critical minerals, to counter U.S. tariffs and expand new trading partnerships. While some federal budgets have a dedicated chapter on Indigenous issues, others don’t.
